Our Sad and Tragic Hamster Wheel

In the link below….there is a Truth regarding an embarrassingly transparent, ruthless and age old practice.
…a practice which leads to a terrorized and ignorant majority harassing and forcing others to do as they do “or else”.
….which often ends with the wringing of hands and beating of chests ; up to the heavens over “how god could let “ us suffer so much…
…AFTER we finally realize it’s much too late to “do” anything.

..After our heads are hung in shame over being bested by an even smaller number of fools who had more imagination than us-who merely needed to build a hamster wheel large enough for us to scamper into and fast enough to keep us woefully and shamefully disoriented.

While, of course, keeping us fat on the notion that no one could possibly be as intelligent as any one of us are misled into thinking we are.

Each. And. Every. Time.

Quotes taken from the article if there isn’t time to read the entire piece-

“There are more things…likely to frighten us than there are to crush us; we suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” (Letters from a Stoic, Seneca)

“No passion so effectually robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear”-18th century philosopher Edmund Burke.

“It would not be impossible to prove with sufficient repetition and a psychological understanding of the people concerned that a square is in fact a circle. They are mere words, and words can be molded until they clothe ideas in disguise.” (Joseph Goebbels)

“The whole aim of practical politics”, wrote HL Mencken, “is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.”
