The Story of It and Its Doing

It became quite efficient at eliminating, amongst the most unwanted,
the most loving.
A difficult task considering the
selflessness demonstrated
had created
a few murmurs of regret
until they ceased arriving altogether.
Now, It’s become quite determined to eliminate amongst the most unwanted,
the most cruel.
An easier task considering the
hurt and the pain
that people sustain
when beaten
to death by unconscionable blows.

Only then, It feels, will the rest ever rest.
When the suffering of guilt is but a sad memory
and defending against attacks is a long faded nightmare.
