The poem “God’s Mommy”

God’s Mommy

He sighed.
Amongst her children, he was easiest to read.
Dark clouds under his eyes meant anger and frustration
Ready to release fat dewdrops
into the corners of his eyes
meaning that he had failed
at something, that most likely wasn’t meant to be done
in the first place.
She smiled.
Amongst her children, he was the most determined.
Fully regaining his composure each time that he needed to
Starting anew
by tossing out the bad bits
determined to succeed
at something that could really be something
if he kept the grime from building up.
