Cooked
It’s one of those simmering deals.
That no one pays serious attentions to.
Until a rebellious little bubble from the boiling pot
hops up out of its confines and lands on the skin.
Or worse yet, manages to land in an eye.
Yes, one of those slow cooker meals.
Taken for granted and left too long to stew.
With the boiling of me in the skin that I’ve got
and the sizzling of you in the pan that you’re in.
With worse yet, the crackle and pop as you fry.
